EDGAR, Printing, and CDs

V.G. Reed began providing limited composition and printing services for our annual prospectus updates in 2004. We asked them to compose just two books last year, to see if the process would help us.

The process worked so well, that we had them compose and print, and burn CDs for all of our Individual product prospectuses in 2005. We also had them convert our old Quark files to Word files, which we used to update the filings. We provided the Word files back to V.G. Reed, and they converted them to Quark files for printing and PDFing for CD ROMs, and converted the Quark files into Edgar files for filing with the SEC.

The process worked quite well. It is easier to work n Word than it is to work in Edgar. We previously had inhouse print services staff convert our Edgar files to Quark for printing. The process was time consuming and inefficient. We were able to compose and PDF and Edgarize with far fewer "go arounds" than in the past. The staff was professional, courteous and efficient.
